Members Experiencing Increased Electric Usage Due to Extreme Cold Temperatures

Southeastern Indiana REMC reports that many members are experiencing higher than usual electric usage, due to the extended extreme cold temperatures.  The greater the temperature difference between inside and outside, the harder your heating system has to work to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature.

As you compare your electric usage from 2017, please keep in mind that the average temperature on January 1, 2017 was 32 degrees.  And on January 1, 2018 the average temperature was -3 degrees.
