Unscheduled Outage on 9/2/2017
Southeastern Indiana REMC experienced an unscheduled outage on 9/2/17, which lasted 12 hours and 57 minutes. This outage affected the Dupont feed from North Vernon, which comes from Duke Energy's transmission line. Duke advised us that a tree fell into the conductor, breaking it. Southeastern IN REMC was not able to transfer much load, if any at all, off of the Dupont substation feed. The outage took longer to repair due to the rough terrain of the location of the tree and broken conductor. While the restoration was dependent on Duke Energy's restoration efforts, we acknowledge and apologize for the inconvenience this outage caused our members.
