Hoosier Energy is a generation and transmission cooperative providing wholesale electric power and services to 18 member distribution cooperatives in central and southern Indiana and southeastern Illinois. Based in Bloomington, Indiana, Hoosier Energy operates coal, natural gas and renewable energy power plants and delivers power through a 1,500-mile transmission network.
Indiana Electric Cooperatives was the first organization of its kind in the nation. Established in 1935, IEC (formerly Indiana Statewide Association of RECs) brought our communities together to serve as a central resource to meet the needs of its member cooperatives.
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is the national organization representing the national interests of the cooperative electric utilities and the consumers they serve.
