FROM THE EDITOR

B.J. Myers
As winter fades and the first signs of spring emerge, we at Southeastern Indiana REMC are embracing the season of renewal, growth, and new opportunities—not just in nature, but in the services we provide to our members. This issue of REMC Connect is packed with insights on how we’re powering progress across our communities, from expanding our fiber network to upgrading our electric system to support new homes and businesses.
In this month’s feature articles, we highlight how fiber-optic technology is shaping the future of internet connectivity and why SEI Fiber gives our members a competitive edge in an increasingly digital world. You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at how our line crews tackle the unique challenges of spring, from storm recovery to maintaining the power grid in wet, unpredictable conditions.
Spring also marks a busy time for farmers preparing their fields for planting, and in our Member Spotlight, we’re featuring The Eaton Farm in Jefferson County, owned by Jerry and Liz Eaton. Their dedication to agriculture and their connection to Southeastern Indiana REMC highlight the important role of reliable electricity in modern farming.
Additionally, we’re excited to share how REMC is investing in the future workforce, with highlights from our participation in career fairs at local elementary schools and community job fairs.
And because no March issue would be complete without a little Pi Day fun, be sure to check out this month’s Co-op Kitchen recipe for a delicious way to celebrate!
